As London restaurants go, this one’s set to be a belter. The team behind Camden’s Cheese Bar have yet another cheese-related venture on the go, and we camembert the excitement! Nestled within the new KERB street food market in Seven Dials, Pick & Cheese will serve hungry Londoners an endless supply of cheese, all delivered via a 40-metre conveyor belt. Reinventing the familiar sushi restaurant concept, this is a very welcome addition to the London food scene. 38 seats will centre around an electronic track that will convey over 25 British cheeses to your seat. Pick and choose your favourites, all of which will be paired with a specific condiment. For example, try fresh ricotta with sherry-infused cherries, or coolea with a hazelnut brittle. The plates will be colour coded to indicate price. As well as the cheese belt, guests can also indulge in charcuterie tasting flights from Tottenham’s Blackhand Food, and hot meals like the team’s famous grilled cheese sandwiches. Of course there’ll be wine to wash it all down, and it’ll all be natural and organic. And, as if there isn’t enough dairy on the menu already, Pick & Cheese have also got together with dessert dons Happy Endings to create special cheese-flavoured ice creams. We’re certainly curious, though not entirely convinced, by brie and blue cheese ice cream. Pick & Choose will open inside KERB’s new Seven Dials Market in September, alongside 25 other food traders. Read more about the market here. If The Cheese Bar in Camden is anything to go by, then we’re surely in for a treat.
