A Woolworths customer has been left scratching their head after making a bizarre discovery on a popular buy.Sharing on Reddit, the shopper was left baffled by the packaging around Woolworths own brand of Cream Cheese.WATCH ABOVE: American tourist shares her ‘culture shock’ at WoolworthsFor more Food related news and videos check out Food >>A closer look shows that the foil wrapping includes imperial measurements in ounces, which is typically used in various countries around the world including the United States.Australia uses the metric system, meaning the mass of food products is measured in kilograms and grams.The mistake prompted a sarcastic response from the Woolworths shopper on Reddit.“Thank you [Woolworths] for this very helpful Easy Measuring Guide featuring a unit of measurement which is both popular and extensively used in Australia,” they wrote.The discovery left some Reddit users frustrated.“What is it with Australians wanting to americanise everything?” asked one.“Even the Dept of Education calls school holidays ‘vacation’. S*** like this annoys me.”Added another: “We’re not in America. This is just annoying, having to convert the measurements yourself.”However there appears to be a possible explanation behind the measurement mix-up – on its website, Woolworths states that this product is imported from the US.“Made in USA. By the same people who make Philly cream cheese. So they use the American packaging,” stated one Reddit user.Another wrote: “Yep, looks like the same exact wrapper I get in the US for Philly brand.”Said one more: “The cheese is imported from the US, and Woolies only bothered to change the external packaging leaving internal foil as is.”
