Northampton-based wine and cheese shop Provisions to open in Longmeadow – masslive.com

Northampton-based wine, beer and cheese shop Provisions will open its third store in Longmeadow in the coming weeks, aiming to serve customers before the bustling holiday season.Started in Northampton in 2011, and expanded to Amherst in 2020, Provisions sells wine and beer “with a story to tell,” co-owner Bruce McAmis said. Frequently that means locally-brewed or family-produced beverages. The newest store — at the Longmeadow Shops on Bliss Road — will carry the same model, said McAmis, a Northampton resident. He hopes to open the doors in early November, in time for the busiest time of the year, when locals stop into the store for advice on a special brew or bottle of wine to serve with a Thanksgiving or holiday meal.Provisions in Northampton stock 50% of their store with European wines. If the tariffs are at the higher end, the store will cut down on buying(Douglas Hook / MassLive)“We want to keep the same experience in Longmeadow,” McAmis said. “We want people to feel comfortable asking questions and buying things they maybe like. All of that entails having a high level of customer service.”The stores also sell a variety of cheese and other “fine foods,” and make charcuterie plates to order.Provisions in Northampton will not only be affected by the tariffs on their wine selection but the cheeses they stock as well.
